Ben from Ace of Cakes

September 28, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Ashley and I watch a lot of Ace of Cakes. It’s enjoyable and about cake. Plus, Ashley has this totally false idea that Geof and Mary Alice are secretly in love. No. False. Not accurate. It is just totally not true, and here is the evidence: Ashley makes things up and there is no evidence to support her theory except other things that she makes up.

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about the real hottest guy on the show: BEN. Soooooo cute. He looks like someone, but I don’t know who (if you have suggestions, please leave them in the comments and especially LEAVE PICTURES!). I feel like maybe it’s someone I went to college with, but I can’t figure out who it would be. But I love him even with his rooster hair and pedophile facial hair, and even though he totally wore a bandana on at least one occasion at work, which means it was filmed and is on the internet. Either way, he is totally cuter than Geof, and I mean Geof is really cute. Ben is like, dirtier or something, and therefore better. I mean, I don’t think dirtier is cuter. No way. He’s better because he’s so good with his hands. He works at Charm City Cakes because he’s such a good builder!

Although, I did discover while looking for Ben clips on youtube that Geof’s last name is MANTHORNE. That might make him a little hotter, sort of like how the most attractive actor from the Harry Potter movies is probably the guy who played Oliver Wood, because his name is Sean Biggerstaff.

Rainn Wilson

August 13, 2008 · Leave a Comment

`

This is Rainn Wilson. He’s holding our imaginary baby. He’s a really good pretend baby daddy for me.

The Office is one of my very most all time favorite shows, up there with very few other things. I mean, it’s like the Office and the Simpsons and 30 Rock. I don’t even like Gossip Girl as much as I like the Office! But if, for some reason, Dwight wasn’t on the Office anymore, I seriously probably wouldn’t watch it. I freaking love Rainn Wilson! If he wasn’t married, I would hop in a helicopter to whereever he’s studying Bahaii and I would JUMP HIS BONES. I

just love his weird sense of humor and his quirkiness (which most people seem to think is really a nice way of saying crazy and weird looking, but I disagree with that concept and embrace the quirk). I love him.

To promote his new movie, which I totally plan on seeing, Rainn Wilson kidnapped Jenna Fischer AKA Pam Beesly from the Office! OMG! The website he has about the kidnapping is one of the most brilliant things ever. No joke, dude. No joke. I could just watch him and his videos on there forever. After the jump are my favorite Rainn Wilson videos, and absolutely NOT my plan to stalk him by moving into the Bahaii Temple in Wilmette. Seriously, my plan is not here because I don’t want someone to steal it.

Sesame Street

July 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS?

OMFG! FEIST? DOOGIE HOUSER? WILL ARNETT? 30 ROCK? Looks like someone here is going to be quitting her job to stay home and watch Sesame Street everyday. I’m also going to eat peanut butter sandwiches and goldfishes for lunch everyday, but I do that anyway. I don’t know if I’ll be leaving the alcohol out of my juice, though

AND THERE IS MORE

Still Standing

June 23, 2008 · 1 Comment

Here are just a few of the reasons I should hate Still Standing:

1. That picture.

2. It’s a traditional (aka stupid) style sitcom. It has a shrewish sister-in-law. It has a laughtrack.

3. It’s a sitcom where a hot lady is married to schlumpy guy.

4. It’s really pretty stupid.

5. The husband is played by an English guy. English people can’t do American accents, unless they’re named Hugh Laurie. I imagine this is also true of Americans doing English accents, unless they’re named Madonna or Gwyneth Paltrow.

6. Have I mentioned that it’s mindblowingly stupid?

And yet, I like it.

Showgirls

June 2, 2008 · 2 Comments

Showgirls is one of my favorite movies. It’s probably the worst movie I’ve ever seen, and I watch Spice World and Newsies on a frequent basis (at least relative to how often I watch other movies). I think Bring It On: In It To Win It (that’s the fourth in the series) is one of the best movies to come out in 2007. I love terrible movies. And Showgirls is one of the most terrible movies I’ve ever seen. But even though it comes with a pretty amazing “V.I.P. set,” complete with shot glasses and blindfolds, I’ve only seen it uncut or on a DVD once or twice. You really can’t fully appreciate how amazing Showgirls is until you’ve watched the sanitized for TV version, complete with painted-on undergarments. Here are 5 things I love about Showgirls.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee

May 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I could not tell you when or why I got into spelling bees. They always remind me of my own utter failures at spelling. The highest I ever got in a spelling bee was third place, and it was a team bee. The top three from each class competed against each other in the school spelling bee. I was in fourth grade. I got out (or dinged, in bee-speak) on “bureau.” I still have to spellcheck that one. It’s definitely a mental block for me, because even though I now know how to spell it, I never trust my spelling.

I think the reason I love spelling bees is because I know that I could have done really well if I’d tried. You don’t have to be the smartest, or the strongest, or the coolest to be good at spelling. You don’t have to have special genes that make you taller or shorter or whatever. You just have to be the biggest nerd and the best at remembering trivial details. I am so good at both of those things.

Eurotrip.

May 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Oh, to be in Europe in the late springtime. I never have been, but I fantasize about it. Yes, folks, it’s that time of year again – Eurovision. It’s the most magical time of year. Better than Christmas, better than Halloween, better than when a new Harry Potter book comes out. I honestly feel that my parents deprived me of two things in my life, and one of those things is being European and therefore able to participate in the Eurovision contest. The other thing, well, we’ll get to that eventually.

The thing about Eurovision is that, in Europe, they seem to mostly care about the “talented” participants. They’re the kinds of people who would win American Idol, if they were American. Those people are boring. I really don’t care about the ballads and the radio-friendly potential dance hits. Yeah, I like Abba and I think it’s great that they won in 1974. But I wouldn’t have voted for them. In my opinion, which is really what matters here, the best winner to date is Lordi in 2006
. You all know Lordi. It was big news when they won, because Lordi is a Finnish metal band with potentially Christian leanings. They kind of dress like Gwar, although I don’t think they would make potential band members die to join the band.

My favorite all-time entrant into the Eurovision contest is the second place winner from last year, from the Ukraine.
